On June 4, 2024, the Worcester County Commissioners approved the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Operating Budget of $261,917,617.
“This is a fiscally conservative budget that allocates funding to cover vital public services and needed capital projects without burdening property owners and taxpayers,” Worcester County Commissioner President Chip Bertino said. “I want to thank our staff, agencies, and department heads on their partnership to ensure that taxpayer money is allocated judiciously.”

Snow Hill, Maryland (May 30, 2024) – The Worcester County Commissioners have extended the deadline for members of the public to nominate individuals, organizations, and businesses for the Volunteer Spirit of Worcester County awards until July 3, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including all five Branch Libraries, will be closed Monday, May 27, 2024, for the Memorial Day holiday.
The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers will also be closed.
Worcester County Recreation and Parks will be closed Sunday and Monday, May 26-27.
Snow Hill, Maryland (May 21, 2024) – The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office (WCFM) and Department of Emergency Services (DES), along with Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Department personnel are closely monitoring efforts by Tyson officials and an independent contractor to extinguish a fire contained within a grain solo at the Tyson Feed Plant in Snow Hill. This is a multi-day project, and residents are likely to detect an odor caused by the burning corn.

Out of an abundance of caution, the homeowner convenience center in Snow Hill closed at 1 p.m. today, Saturday, May 18, 2024, and will remain closed while local officials work with Tyson to resolve a fire contained inside a silo on the adjacent Tyson Plant property.
The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office and Department of Emergency Services are closely monitoring efforts by Tyson officials in Snow Hill to mitigate a fire contained within a grain solo at their Snow Hill plant. Emergency personnel from the FMO and DES will remain in constant contact with these local partners and remain onsite as efforts to extinguish the fire get underway this weekend.
