TRAFFIC ALERT – ROAD CLOSURE: Silva Road, from Sheephouse Road – Maryland/Virgina Line

Mon., Sept. 23 – Tues., Sept. 24, Silva Road will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days, from Sheephouse Road – Maryland/Virgina Line, while Alan Myers, the county’s paving contractor, pave the road. The road will be open outside of paving hours. For more information, please call the Worcester County Roads Division at 410-632-2244.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Bromley Road

Alan Myers, the county’s paving contractor, will be paving Bromley Road on Friday, September 20. The project should take two days to complete. The road will remain open; however, motorists can expect traffic delays while work is being performed. Flaggers will be in place to guide people through the work zone safely. Commissioners appoint Cathy Zirkle as new DRP customer service manager

Snow Hill, Maryland (September 18, 2024) – The Worcester County Commissioners appointed Cathy Zirkle to serve as the customer service manager within Development Review and Permitting (DRP). Zirkle, who stepped into her new role September 3, will replace longtime Customer Service Manager Janet Davis who will be retiring later this year.

Worcester County Offices Closed Labor Day, September 2

Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including the Worcester County Recreation Center and the five branch libraries, will be closed Monday, September 2, 2024, for the Labor Day holiday.

The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers will also be closed.

WCG offices will resume standard operating hours on Tuesday, September 3. WCG staff wish one and all a happy and safe holiday weekend.

 

Public invited to comment on West Ocean City bicycle/pedestrian path feasibility study

Snow Hill, Maryland –Worcester County Public Works (WCPW) officials invite area residents and visitors to comment on a recently completed bicycle/pedestrian path feasibility study. The study addresses a proposal to develop a hiking and biking trail on MD Rt. 611 from US Rt. 50 to Assateague State Park. To view the study, visit www.co.worcester.md.us.
