Worcester County Government offices, including all five Branch Libraries, will be closed Friday, March 29, 2024 for Good Friday. Normal business hours will resume Monday, April 1.
The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers (HOCCs) will be closed Friday, March 29, and open during standard hours of operation Saturday, March 30.
The Water and Wastewater Division of Public Works will begin its semi-annual program for flushing waterlines in the Ocean Pines Service Area between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The following proposed dates for the flushing of the waterlines are subject to change.

The Worcester County Fair returns to Snow Hill August 9 – 11, 2024. Now under the management of Worcester County Recreation and Parks (WCRP), the fair will take place at John Walter Smith Park at 6022 Public Landing Road, adjacent to the Worcester County Recreation Center.
Celebrate Trails Day Saturday, April 27, in the picturesque town of Snow Hill, Maryland by exploring the newly established trail system with Pocomoke River State Park and Forest. These scenic trails will eventually link Snow Hill to the Pocomoke River State Park at Shad Landing.
Snow Hill, Maryland (March 22, 2024) – Worcester County Public Works will host two free events to recycle boat shrink wrap. The events will take place the week of April 30 - May 4 and again the week of June 3 – 8 at the Worcester County Central Landfill, at 7091 Central Site Lane Newark, during normal business hours.
For this Saturday the National Weather Service is forecasting 1.5 - 4 inches of rain. Expect minor flooding due to elevated tides and strong winds during high tides on both Saturday and Sunday. Flood potential and inundation may increase. Be aware of changing road conditions. It is never safe to drive or walk into flood waters. Turn around, don’t drown!
23-WL-0813/202361274/24-WQC-0004/US WIND INC, C/O JEFFREY GRYBOWSKI, 401 East Pratt Street, Suite 1810, Baltimore, MD has applied to construct a 625 foot long by 32 foot wide concrete pier with associated wave break and timber fenders and 435 linear feet of replacement bulkhead with associated timber fenders, all within a maximum of 390 feet channelward of the mean high water line. The purpose of the project is to improve navigable access.
Due to flooding, these county roads are closed: Porters Crossing; Train Station: Sand Rd/Creek Rd/Redhouse Road intersection, Creek Road (Scotty Road – Sand Road); Redhouse Road (Pennewell Road – Sand Road), and Sand Road (Millville Road – Redhouse Road).
