Worcester County Board of Elections Updates
- At its July 2, 2025 meeting, the Worcester County Board of Elections will consider consolidating two polling places for those voters in the Snow Hill portion of District 1-1 (Pocomoke Community Center, 1410 Market Street, Pocomoke City, MD 21851) to District 2-2 (Snow Hill Middle School, 522 Coulbourne Lane, Snow Hill, MD 21863) and the Newark portion of District 1-2 (Girdletree First Baptist Church, 5912 Taylor Landing Road, Girdletree, MD 21829)) to District 2-3 (Newark Fire Department, 8338 Newark Road, Newark, MD 21841)
- At its July 2, 2025, meeting, the Worcester County Board of Elections approved creating a precinct within District 1-1 for those residents that live in Snow Hill and consolidating this new precinct with precinct 2-2 (Snow Hill Middle School polling place), AND creating a precinct within District 1-2 for those residents that live in the Newark area and consolidating this new precinct with precinct 2-3 (Newark Fire Department polling place).
- Prior to the 2024 Presidential General Election, many Snow Hill/Newark residents were redistricted by the County Commissioners into a different commissioner district which resulted in a longer drive to their new polling place. To accommodate these voters the newly created precincts will allow them to vote closer to their residence.
Per State law, beginning June 1, 2025, all open Board of Elections Board Meetings will be recorded and posted online for public viewing. Meetings will be streamed live at the link below.
