FREE Car Seat Safety Check on Wednesday, July 16, at the Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Department, located at 4718 Snow Hill Road, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Certified technicians will ensure each car seat is installed correctly.
In observance of Independence Day, Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including all five Branch Libraries and Recreation and Parks, will be closed Friday, July 4, 2025.
The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers will also be closed on July 4 and reopen July 5 during standard operating hours.
WCG offices will resume standard hours of operation on Monday, July 7.
The public is invited to a town hall meeting with Snow Hill, Worcester County Tourism and Economic Development (WCTED), and National Park Service (NPS) Chesapeake Gateways professionals to discuss the future of outdoor recreation and adventure in Snow Hill. The meeting will take place Tuesday, July 15, from 5-7 p.m. in the Worcester County Government Center’s first-floor board room at 1 West Market Street in Snow Hill.
County Offers Cannabis Reinvestment and Repair Grant
A new grant program will offer funding to support initiatives that benefit low-income communities and those disproportionately impacted by cannabis charges.
Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including all five Branch Libraries and Recreation and Parks, will be closed Thursday, June 19, 2025, for Juneteenth, National Freedom Day.
The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers will also be closed.
WCG offices will resume standard operating hours on Friday June 20th.
The Isle of Wight Park, located at 13090 St. Martin’s Neck Road in Bishopville, will be closed to the public for a special event from June 12-15, 2025.
The park will reopen to the public during standard hours of operation beginning June 16.

On June 3, 2025, the Worcester County Commissioners approved the Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Operating Budget of $281,396,017.
“This budget increases funding for priorities like education and public safety and at the same time decreases the property tax rate for our residents,” Worcester County Commissioner President Ted Elder said. “Everyone is coming out of this with something.”

Snow Hill, Maryland – The Worcester County Commissioners will conduct a budget work session on the Requested FY26 County Operating Budget on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 12 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room in the Worcester County Government Center in Snow Hill. The meeting is open to the public.
Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including all five Branch Libraries, will be closed Monday, May 26, 2025, for the Memorial Day holiday.
The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers will also be closed May 26.
