Snow Hill, Maryland (November 14, 2025) – Following a successful renovation and repair project, the Riddle Farm Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is once again fully operational. The rehabilitation project, which got underway with M2 in June 2024, came in within budget and on time.
Snow Hill, Maryland – Worcester County Government’s satellite offices at Isle of Wight, located at MD Rt. 90 and St. Martins Neck Road, will be closed for renovations from Wednesday, November 19, 2025, through spring 2026. Services provided at this location by the Treasurer’s Office and Health Department will temporarily be relocated.
Snow Hill, Maryland – Worcester County Government offices, including Recreation and Parks, will be closed Tuesday, November 11, 2025 for Veterans Day.
All five Branch Libraries, Central Landfill, and Homeowner Convenience Centers will be open during standard hours of operation.
Snow Hill, Maryland – Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including the Worcester County Recreation Center and all five branch libraries, will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28, 2025 for Thanksgiving Day and American Indian Heritage Day. All five branch libraries will also be closed Nov. 29.
Snow Hill, Maryland – Water and sewer users will see increases in their bills beginning this quarter. Rates in each of the 11 water and wastewater sanitary service areas (SSAs) increased in fiscal year 2026 to cover actual operating and maintenance costs increases.
The service areas were designed to fund themselves, but they were underfunded for years. If the rates remained flat from FY25, revenues would not cover actual expenses for FY26 in each of the service areas.
Snow Hill, Maryland – Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the Worcester County Commissioners appointed Ondrea Starzhevskiy to serve as the new finance officer. Starzhevskiy briefly served as deputy finance officer after joining the County’s finance team in August 2025. In her elevated role, Starzhevskiy will lead the Treasurer’s Office.
“Whether he was standing alongside the commissioners to support the Consolidated Transportation Plan and other projects or coming out to celebrate the county’s farming history at the Worcester County Fair, Delegate Charles Otto was always championing Worcester causes,” Worcester County Commissioner President Ted Elder said. “He was a true friend to Worcester County, and he was a personal friend of mine. He is already dearly missed.”
Snow Hill, Maryland – Area residents are cordially invited to join the Worcester County Commissioners as they cut the ribbon on the new playground equipment at the Showell Park on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2:30 p.m.
The Worcester County Public Works Recycling Division will host Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Day on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Central Landfill in Newark, Maryland.
HHW, computer towers, and laptops may be dropped off for safe disposal. No keyboards, mouses, or other electronics will be accepted.
