Snow Hill, Maryland (April 21, 2022) – The commissioners welcome Nancy Schwendeman as the new workforce development specialist within Worcester County Economic Development (WCED). She stepped into her new role on March 28. Schwendeman earned a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant business management. She brings 36 years of experience in the hospitality industry to her new position.

Tomorrow, April 20, the Worcester County Recreation Center in Snow Hill will be opening to the public at 8:00 a.m.

Snow Hill, Maryland (April 18, 2021) – Three options are available for the scheduled public hearings at Stephen Decatur High School on April 19 at 6 p.m. on a proposal to purchase property in the Berlin area to develop a sports complex using general obligation bond funds. The public may attend in-person, view the hearing online via Zoom, or call in to listen.

Worcester County Government offices, including all five Branch Libraries, will be closed Friday, April 15, 2022, in observance of Good Friday. Normal business hours will resume Monday, April 18.

Worcester County Recreation and Parks (WCRP) will be closed April 15-17 and resume standard operating hours on April 18.

Snow Hill, Maryland (March 29, 2021) – The Worcester County Commissioners will host a public hearing on a proposal to purchase 95.521 acres of property in the Berlin/West Ocean City area and identified on Tax Map 25 as Parcel 89 to develop a sports complex, using a portion of the proceeds from general obligation bond funds of $11,198,830 in FY23 to fund acquisition, design, and development costs. The public hearing will take place in the Stephen Decatur High School auditorium in Berlin on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 6 p.m.

Snow Hill, Maryland (February 11, 2021) – Worcester County is accepting applications from landowners interested in participating in Maryland’s Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) through the voluntary sale of an easement to Worcester County.

Worcester County is currently accepting applications from low to moderate income individuals and families who may be eligible for general home rehabilitation assistance through the Worcester County Housing Rehabilitation Program. This program provides grant and loan funding to owner occupied properties for general rehabilitation and lead abatement services.
